Philadelphia Wedding Photographer – Kerri & Kenneth

Chinese Wedding Banquet: Joy Tsin Lau, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Kerri and Kenneth contacted me shortly after having their wedding in Hawaii, which is where Kerri lived with her family prior to relocating to the east coast.  They planned to have a Chinese wedding banquet in Philadelphia, and asked if I would be interested in photographing them in and around the city, followed by documenting the banquet at Joy Tsin Lau in Chinatown.  After meeting them both at my residential studio, it became clear that this was definitely something I would enjoy.  We had a wonderful time spending time in Old City Philadelphia and Independence Hall before heading over to the Chinese wedding banquet.  Thanks for a great afternoon and evening, Kerri and Kenneth, and I hope you enjoy a wonderful life together!

Brandywine Manor House Wedding Photographer – Kim & Dan

Wedding Ceremony and Reception: Brandywine Manor House, Honey Brook, PA

After spending a wonderful afternoon with Kim and Dan during their Philadelphia engagement session last year, I was eagerly awaiting the opportunity to photograph their wedding.  They are such a fantastic couple and celebrating this special day with them was truly an honor.  I was fortunate that they elected to do a first look before the ceremony, which provided us with ample time to explore the beautiful grounds at Brandywine Manor House and create a wide variety of photographs of them together.  Thanks for an awesome day Kim and Dan, and I wish you a long and happy life together!

Philadelphia Chinese Wedding Photography – Yummy & Mark

I was honored to photograph the traditional Chinese wedding ceremony for Yummy and Mark in Philadelphia last month.  Yummy is best friends with my sister-in-law, Chong, who was the matron of honor, and I have thus known her for
quite some time now.  Mark is from England, and while this was my first time meeting him, he was very nice throughout the day and I can understand why Yummy would relocate to Europe to spend her life with him.  We started at the home of Yummy’s parents where Yummy look beautiful wearing her traditional Chinese wedding dress for the upcoming tea ceremony.

As is the tradition in the Chinese culture, Mark and his groomsmen were required to play door games and provide the bridesmaids Li Shi, money wrapped in a red envelope, to gain access into the home to see his bride.

Once inside, Yummy and Mark then presented tea to her parents and relatives, and received gifts that included gold jewelry.

Following the Chinese tea ceremony, we went to center city Philadelphia for Yummy and Mark’s formal wedding portraits.  They were scheduled to have a European wedding and formal reception in London, but Philadelphia obviously holds a special place of significance for Yummy and it was important that it play a part in her wedding photography.  Mark also proposed to Yummy at the Philadelphia Art Museum adding to the significance.
