Philadelphia Wedding – August & Tony
August and Tony had a beautiful wedding ceremony at All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia on July 25, 2009. I have known August and Tony for quite some time now, and have been good friends with Tony’s brother Bill since I was a child. Needless to say, having the opportunity to photograph their wedding was tremendous fun for me, and you will see from the photos that they had a fantastic time throughout the day.
Once the wedding ceremony concluded, we took a few formal photographs in the church and then headed over to the grounds of Nazareth Academy
for a couple group shots and several more shots of August and Tony.
After capturing some beautiful moments shared by August and Tony, it was time for the reception at Fran Lee
in Philadelphia. The evening started off romantic and quiet with a touching first dance, followed with a funny toast delivered by Tony’s brother and best man, Bill.
It didn’t stay quiet for long. While I typically don’t post many cake cutting (ahem…smashing) pictures, this series of shots is just too funny not to share. Notice that August gets points for being the first to strike, but Tony was the last to laugh with some seriously funny retaliation.
That last shot cracks me up every time I look at it. I’m so glad I quickly changed my composition from horizontal to vertical to capture just his arm reaching in at that moment. By the way, if you think that August or Tony were upset after their cake battle, well think again. The pace of the party picked up even further and it was a fun ride the rest of the night.
Congratulations to August and Tony, and thank you for giving me the chance to take part in your special day!!!
