This past summer I had the great honor of training for five full days with perhaps the top wedding photographer in the world, Jerry Ghionis, in the beautiful city of Toronto, Canada. Jerry is highly passionate about both photography and education, and combining these characteristics with his jovial personality made for a truly spectacular week of learning. The amount of information covered was remarkable, ranging from developing skills in the areas of lighting and posing, to enhancing ones business through superior client servicing and relationships. Perhaps the most valuable aspect of the workshop was Jerry’s constructive image critiques conducted openly among all of the participants, since with each passing evaluation so many subtle details of what makes a successful image were uncovered time and time again. I was both humbled and happy by the fact that Jerry spoke very positively about my work, which affirmed that all of the time and resources I’ve dedicated to education thus far has been well spent and provided a great source of encouragement to continue striving for excellence. For wedding photographers looking to improve their skills or enhance their understanding of the business, I highly recommend attending one of Jerry’s five-day workshops or joining his ICE Society educational website. I hope you enjoy just a few of the images I created during the workshop.
